ME....In a Nutshell

For all of you who KNOW me, you must know this. I am a KNOW-IT-ALL, and I LOVE to be in the KNOW of everything about, and around me. You must also know that I do not open my mouth unless I know what I'm talking about, and when I do talk, I am usually right......that's why I don't open my mouth unless I know....get it ;-) Anyway, being that you do know me, you also have to know that I love...or should I say, I have to be PROVEN wrong when I feel that I know something, and that I also LOVE to analyzed and broken down. I really love it when people know me. Maybe that's why I like the zodiac and horoscopes so much (but I don't follow them to be the absolute truth...they're just entertaining to me).

Speaking of entertaining, there is another blog site called "Blog Things", and they have ALL TYPES of different "THINGS" that you can do to add to your blog. The thing I chose to do was the sleep analysis. It asks "how do you sleep"....fetal position, on your side, on your back, or on your stomach? I almost ALWAYS sleep on my right side, and this is the answer that I received. This is TOTALLY AMAZING, because it is totally TRUE, for all of you who KNOW the REAL ME, you'll agree. I love this kind of stuff. If you go to this particular site, you'll see that I did not make-up my results. It is just who I am ;-)

What Your Sleeping Position Says

You are calm and rational.
You are also giving and kind - a great friend.
You are easy going and trusting.
However, you are too sensible to fall for mind games.

ROLE PLAYING

Today's topic class, is actually about Gender Roles. How do you view society's gender roles? Do you feel that the man is the head of the household (when married, or in a committed relationship), or do you believe that everything in the relationship is 50/50?

I for one am very old fashioned in this respect, as you all may already know. I do believe that the man is the head of the household, and the main decision maker when it comes down to bottom-line decisions, but that doesn't take anything away from any woman in my life. It's just the roles that have been instilled in my mind since childhood.

But look at it this way. What if we didn't have these preconceived "rules and roles" placed in our heads as youths? What would our society be if everything was REALLY 50/50? It's kinda hard to imagine a society where all women would be paid the same as men, in power positions as men, and in bottom-line gender roles as men. Now, before you get upset with me, I'm not saying this to say that women cannot be in any of the positions above, but what I am saying is it's hard to imagine it, because of how we've been programmed as children.

Other than the possibility of a few hard core feminists reading this post, are there any other women that can REALLY actually imagine a society where all major responsibilites and power positions would be split down the middle? We have been programmed for so long, that we've instilled the same "rules" and values that we've been taught in our children.

Men have been programmed to be the 'providers and protectors' while the women were taught to be lady-like, cute, quiet and/or shy housewives. Now, in the new millenium, women are taking on more important roles in their lives, whether it be in the workplace or household, and in some instances, it's causing men to feel a little inadequate. If we (men) are to taught to be tough, and not cry or show sensitivity, what happens when women start doing the same? What happens when women start being just as tough and hard as men? What happens when women start providing for the household just as men do? Does society stand and get better, or will this have a negative impact? There is a hierarchy placed in our society for multiple reasons, and one of them is gender roles.

Women are the mothers, and nuturers by nature, and the men are the warriors, protectors and providers. Maybe it's like that for a reason. Men are physically stronger, and in physical instances, our mental strength is a factor as well. There are lots of women that I know that just do not know how to handle mentally stressful physical acts such as fist fights, and attacks, therefore making the mens role of warrior and protector warranted. If this part of our roles was split 50/50, what would our (men) purpose be in the household? It would pretty much make it seem like women don't need men to feel safe and/or protected. With the way society is now teaching women how to be more self reliant, where do the men fit? I'm not saying that women should not be able to protect themselves, or be able to make as much money as, if not more than men, but if we start splitting our roles completely down the middle, what would we need each other for other than sex and companionship? If women can protect themselves as much as men can, and men can nuture children just as much as women can, where will we end up....all self reliant, self protected and all alone.

I like the way things are, and I am up for change, but at the same time, I do not want to be alone ;-).....what about you?

Is Not Knowing, Better?

If you are a major "24" fan like I am, you would have witnessed the beginning of another masterful season. If you're a major thinker like I am, you've also come up with an answer to the now ever popular question, could that really happen?

If you are not aware of the latest "24" craze, I am talking about the "terrorists" detonating 1 of 5 brief-case-enclosed Nuclear Bombs. "24"-heads like myself are all asking whether it is possible or not for terrorists to be able to have, and easily detonate Nuclear Bombs right under our ATF, DEA and CIA's noses. Some may call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the answer is YES.

Why?

Well, why not? Our government is SUPPOSED to be aware, and prepared for all worst-case scenario's, but we cannot, under any circumstances, stop any terrorists attempts on our soil.

The Oklahoma City bombing.
The SECOND, and sadly successful World Trade Center Attacks.
The attacks on the Pentagon, and many more that we are not fully aware of, are all indications that we are NOT prepared for the REAL worst-case-scenario, which is a Nuclear attack.

So, being that we are not prepared, do you think it is our govt's. duty to inform the people of this great country, or should we be left in the dark in order to preserve our regular work-a-day lifestyle? I for one think it's best that we do not know. If we were to find out all of our govt's. doings, the information alone would incite a riot to say the least. World wide panic would ensue, and there would be no possible way for us to maintain, or regain order.

Moreover, I think we like to be left in the dark, because if we were allowed to see roughly 5-minutes of footage of what our govt. keeps from us, our 'regular' minds would shut down, and we'd be up for a major rebooting.

For example, look at cellular phone technology. Do you honestly think that these new small and slim phones are really NEW? I think not! These technologically advanced phones have been around for years, but since we're on a set schedule, we cannot exceed our govt. set tech allowances, because there would be nothing to look forward to, or prepare to buy. Keeping us in the dark, or one step behind helps keep the economy flowing.

I am willing to bet everything I've ever owned on the fact that when Zack Morris was all too popular on "Saved By the Bell" , walking around with his all white, super big brick cell phone, these smaller and more advanced phones were already available, but just not in mass production. If they were, what would we be using now...microchips? You get it? We just can't handle technological advances handed to us at a much faster pace than we've been preset to.

Think back a little further, and see if you can follow me. Let me paint a quick picture for you. It had to be roughly around early 2004. There was a commercial where there was a man sitting on a park bench, possibly somewhere downtown New York, and he was wearing a nice set of small stylish sun glasses. There was another man sitting next to him, but they weren't speaking. All of a sudden, the man with the sun glasses started yelling out "BUY", "SELL", "TRADE", "NO", "NO" and so on. He was wearing a set of internet/tv glasses, and he was trading stock online....through the lens of his glasses! How cool is that!? That was shown to us, and taken away from us back in early '04....or maybe even '03.

That commercial has had me excited about that product since then, and I still haven't forgotten about it. I'm just waiting for them to release it to the world...just like the in-home picture phones.

You see, our world is much more advanced than we are allowed to know, and I think with good reason. "We cannot handle the truth". We are a simple society with a majority of simple people who do not wish to have their boats rocked, and I do not blame them. I for one can handle the onslaught of new technology, because I'm just a brainy geek like that, but the world can't. If we were to be informed that we are really always under constant ORANGE and RED alert, people would be afraid to leave their homes, and our economy would suffer as a result. We have to be left in the dark about our already available technology, and terrorism threats in order to survive in this somewhat perfect world that our govt. has created for us.

So with that being said, am I wrong? Do you think we can handle what the world REALLY has in store for us, or Is Not Knowing, Better?

Waiting for the World to Change!

I've never met John Mayer, and I doubt that I ever will, but I absolutely love this song and the message within.

I am so tired of my brother having to go back and forth to the War Zone, and I am really frustrated with G.W.Bush and his total disregard for our troops, family and friends in the War. I can promise you that NO ONE in his family is anywhere near this War, and they NEVER will be.

Please, just take a moment to listen to the song, and hear the truth in the lyrics. There's pretty much nothing we can do but wait....and it is so sad.

Make Love, Not War!

We're Accepting Pesos Now???

Dallas, Texas.

What is happening to our California/American economy when Small Pizza Chains begin accepting Pesos as a form of payment...for American food or products?

It goes back to my previous blog (Illegal Immigrants in Our Economy) post when I gave my views and opinions about how illegal immigrants are effecting our American economy. One of the examples that I stated was one about Landscaping companies being undercut by illegals to do just as good a job as our American businesses for a small fraction of the price. Now, don't mistake what I'm saying by thinking that it's wrong to look for better deals and save money overall, but as a whole, by accepting the "better" offer from illegals, we are hurting our own economy rather than helping it.

If we begin to accept pesos in our small chain, and National businesses, what do you think is going to happen to our economy? We are already feeling the impact of what illegal landscaping companies are doing to us, so how much of an impact do you think accepting pesos is going
to have? What that does is make it ok for illegals to spend their dollars here, when the American dollar used to hold the higher value (overall), and it shows that we are accepting any illegal immigrants or money here, no matter what.

The more we begin to accept, the more these rapid changes are going to continue to take place. Pretty soon, the American economy will change over to ALL foreign currency and laws, and we will become the minority...in our "suppos-ed" land.

I know that California/America is a capitolist society, but this is too much of a transition, especially after the BIG controversy over deporting illegals back to their respective countries. If we accept their form of currency, why not accept all illegal immigrants in without penalty? Why make a big issue over jobs, medicare and minimum wages, if you're going to accept it overall?

Please do not take my opinions on this issue as me being a racist, or separatist, because I am truly a Liberal. I just want to point out what we all as a society tend to overlook...just as I always do here at Aimless Thought.

CATS AND DOGS

Here's a little something different!

This chart was sent to me by my uncle, and I thought I'd share it with you.

As much as we love and compare ourselves to animals, I'm glad our lives don't blow by like theirs.

I have to know one thing though.

Who's the Veternarian that came up with these statistics, and how do they really know?

Maybe it's the way their (animal) bones and organs mature compared to ours, but then again, why are you comparing animal organs to humans?

We are similar, but not THAT similar.

My Favorite Magician

This guy is just too slick! I love how he tries to distract you from the focal point, but keep watching til the end so you can enjoy the turn out. ;-) I will have to say however that this is pretty cool. I've seen art like this, but never with the accent of optical illusions. Pretty slick though.
